
Like any other machine, all computer systems are subject to failure from time to time. Failures on our own PC’s are a pain, but as long as we have suitable backups, it’s not a huge deal to get things back up and running.

The wonderful thing with computers these days is we can keep masses of stuff on them. Back when I bought my first PC it had a 40Mb hard disk, which was plenty at the time, but the best part of twenty years later, we need far far more space to store all the digital photo’s, music, documents, videos etc most of which we kept in a manual format back then.
The only downside is whether such storage is safe. Many things can happen to our computers, despite our best attempts to keep them safe and working. Issues such as viruses and component failures have the potential to take our data away in the blink of an eye. With laptops, loss or theft of the machine is always a possibility too.
