If you are reading this, then you are in an internet browser.  The browser is the software program used to access (or browse) all the websites making up the wonderful web!

The browser people are most familiar with is probably Internet Explorer, which comes on every Windows PC.  Internet Explorer was based on one of the earliest browsers which was licensed by Microsoft and became part of Windows with Windows 95.  Not surprisingly, the software has been updated many times, and also competitors have sprung up.
